Taking a look back at another week of news from Cupertino, this week’s Apple Loop includes more information and dates on the launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, new images of the handset, the potential design flaw in the iPhone six and six plus, the seriously compromising zero-day flaw in iOS, why new apps need to be free, Microsoft’s new keyboard for iOS, Siri gaining more intelligence, and the Apple 1 that wasn’t worth a million dollars.
Apple Loop is here to remind you of a few of the very many discussions that have happened around Apple over the last seven days (and you can read the weekly digest of Android news here on Forbes).
iPhone 7 Launch Date Approaching
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will soon be here, and the implications of the new devices’ arrival is being felt in every avenue of the smartphone world. With multiple proposed dates for the reveal, pre-orders, and retail sales, the consensus has been building. Now noted tipster Evan Blass has locked in the dates for his audience, he is very confident that the iPhone 7 will go on sale on Friday September 16th 2016.
Pre-orders through the online Apple Store are expected to commence on September 9th – and if you have your heart set on one of the larger capacity devices or the new electric blue color scheme I would recommend that you get your pre-order in as quickly as possible because stocks are traditionally low on the higher-end devices at launch.
The main event with the reveal of the new iPhone family is still expected to be September 7th.
